Mp3tag is a powerful and yet easy-to-use tool to edit metadata of common audio formats where it supports ID3v1, ID3v2.3, ID3v2. For example, many tag editors will amend/fill in file names from tags, or vice-versa. I think that’s why many will use them over Explorer. Tag editors will allow for “batch” (en masse) modifications of files, and oftentimes in a very robust way.
